York Work Shop
York Work Shop is a Brooklyn-based creative agency and brand, founded by twin brothers, Phil & Raffie Gordon. In 2024, I worked with YWS to design a website experience that unifies the YWS creative studio with their online store of curated objects and made-in-USA apparel. The result is a flexible system that supports the brand’s evolving content and identity while staying true to its visual language and philosophy.

Form, Function, and Flexibility
The YWS site was designed to reflect the studio’s dual offering (equal parts creative agency and retail brand) as well as the brand’s bold, evolving identity. Designed in Figma for development in Shopify, the system balances modular flexibility with a clear underlying structure. The brand’s wordmark doubles as the site’s primary navigation, guiding users across a 3-part experience: YORK, WORK, and SHOP. This logic shapes the rest of the system, resulting in a layout that is efficient, intentional, and tightly aligned with the brand’s identity.

YORK
The "York" section introduces the studio and its approach. A series of modular blocks outlines the agency’s services, brand, and philosophy.


WORK
The "Work" section presents an ongoing archive of studio projects. Fullscreen thumbnails link to comprehensive case studies, each with additional project info and a gallery of related media.


SHOP
The "Shop" section integrates limited-run apparel and curated found objects into the site’s broader design. Rather than functioning as a standalone e-commerce store, it supports the studio’s philosophy of creative exploration.

The YWS website reflects the studio’s hybrid nature through a creative structure and visual cohesion. Built to support both ongoing client work and evolving product lines, the system offers a stable foundation for growth while staying rooted in the brand’s identity and ethos.
